Main objective: Revitalizing the legacy of Jihlava’s musical personalities in public spaces
Project ID: SPF-01-017
Brief description: Enhancing the educational trail by installing interactive musical elements, organizing the all-day public event Music Playground, a performance by the local Elementary School of Arts (ZUŠ) ensemble in Austria, and publishing an information brochure about the newly expanded educational trail Musical Personalities of Jihlava.
ERDF co-financing: €34,905.24
Implementation period: 1 March 2025 – 28 February 2026
The project revived the legacy of Jihlava’s musical personalities in public spaces. This potential was used to create a musical trail as a new tourism product, designed especially for families with children from both the Czech Republic and Austria. The trail now includes three new interactive musical installations located along Jihlava’s historic fortification walkway, while a Poesiomat has been installed in front of the city library.
The entire trail is presented as a tourism product in a bilingual Czech-German brochure. The official opening of the trail took place during the Music Playground public event.
The Jihlava Elementary School of Arts (ZUŠ), celebrating the 100th anniversary of its rich history, also participated in the project. Its children's ensemble performed not only at the Music Playground event in Gustav Mahler Park in Jihlava, but also in Zistersdorf, Austria.
The modernized educational trail In the Footsteps of Gustav Mahler and Jihlava’s Musical Traditions is now featured on the Czech-Austrian cultural web portal AREAACZ.EU.
The project was co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg Austria–Czech Republic Programme, Small Projects Fund. The project partner of Brána Jihlavy was the Austrian organization Museumsmanagement Niederösterreich GmbH.
