The permanent exhibition presents the Jihlava period of Gustav Mahler’s life, one of the most important composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Visitors can explore the environment in which Mahler grew up, gained his first musical experiences, and began to shape his unique musical language.
The exhibition showcases not only Mahler’s personality but also the atmosphere of 19th-century multicultural Jihlava, a city where Czech, German, and Jewish cultures met and coexisted.
The exhibition for the Statutory City of Jihlava was prepared by:
Petr Dvořák, Alena Jakubíčková, and Renata Pisková,
based on the script by Jiří Rychetský, author of the original exhibition Young Gustav Mahler and Jihlava, installed from 1994 to 2006 at Kosmákova Street 9.
