The exhibition is dedicated to the coexistence of Czech, German, and Jewish inhabitants of Jihlava, who together shaped the city’s character and culture over the centuries.
Each culture is symbolically represented by a trio of figures – Czech, Jewish, and German – standing side by side on the stone pavement of Jihlava’s main square. Behind them, in the lunette panels, appears the motif of the town hall, while on the opposite wall are portraits of notable personalities who lived in Jihlava and left their mark on its history.
The exhibition also features an audiovisual projection with the central theme “The Man, the Composer, the Conductor, and the Cosmopolitan Gustav Mahler,” presenting Mahler’s life within the context of a multicultural society.
Around the central column, visitors can enjoy interactive computer games.
