In addition to the permanent exhibition and changing accompanying shows, the Gustav Mahler House offers many more experiences.
On the 2nd floor, a modern AV hall hosts lectures and programme events. Visitors can also enjoy a short animation about Mahler’s role in modern music: “The Boy’s Magic Horn.” iPads with a phonotheque of recordings by Gustav Mahler, Alma Mahler, and the Mahler Jihlava – Music of Thousands festival, as well as a digital piano, are at your disposal.
Families with children are welcome in the Children’s World on the 1st floor – a creative space with musical instruments, art supplies, and toys. Young artists can even display their works on a special “music staff wall.”
In the attic, the study room awaits those interested in in-depth research, offering specialist literature and recordings of Mahler’s works. Access is possible by prior arrangement.
